Financial aid programs at Eagle Gate College

Federal grants are forms of need-based financial assistance that typically do not require repayment. Eligibility is determined through the information submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Programs may include the Federal Pell Grant and other federal grant opportunities. Award amounts and availability are determined annually and may vary based on your individual financial circumstances and enrollment status. Eagle Gate College participates in a variety of financial aid programs available to those who qualify, and our Financial Aid team is here to help you identify the right combination of resources to support your educational goals. You can find more detailed information regarding financial aid in the Eagle Gate College catalog.

Scholarships are a form of financial assistance that generally does not require repayment and can help reduce overall education costs. Awards may be based on academic achievement, financial need, demonstrated talent, or other qualifying criteria. Eagle Gate College offers institutional scholarships and grant opportunities in accordance with current catalog guidelines and eligibility requirements. Availability, qualifications, and award amounts may vary by program and campus. Students are also encouraged to explore external scholarship opportunities through community organizations, employers, and national foundations to further support their educational goals.

College Merit Scholarship – $500

The College Merit Scholarship is a $500 award available to three-quarter-time and full-time students who demonstrate academic merit and financial need. First-year students may apply after successfully completing two academic terms. Awards are distributed during the student’s second academic year and divided evenly across terms. Eligible recipients may receive the Merit Scholarship for up to two academic years, subject to annual award limits.

Practical Nursing Alumni Grant (PN to BSN) – Up to $10,000

This grant is available to graduates of Eagle Gate College’s Practical Nursing program who enroll in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Awards are based on financial need and may not be combined with tuition reduction programs. The maximum grant amount is $10,000, disbursed proportionately at the beginning of each semester. Eligible students may also benefit from block transfer options from PN to BSN to help accelerate their path toward RN licensure.

MA-PN Alumni Grant

This grant is available to graduates of Eagle Gate’s MA diploma program who enroll in our Practical Nursing program.  It is awarded based on financial need and requires completion of the FAFSA. The maximum grant amount is $1,200, awarded proportionately each term.

Military Grant

The Military Grant is available to qualifying service members and their immediate family members. Funds are disbursed evenly throughout the length of the program and may be applied toward tuition, books, and fees. Financial need is calculated by subtracting total direct institutional costs from all other available aid.

Student loans

Student loans are a common form of financial aid and are borrowed funds that must be repaid with interest. At Eagle Gate College, loans may be provided through the U.S. Department of Education or through private lenders and may be available to students and, in some cases, their parents.

Eagle Gate College does not recommend specific private lenders. Students may borrow from any lender of their choice, but are encouraged to carefully review interest rates, repayment terms, fees, and borrower protections before committing. We promote responsible borrowing and provide guidance to help students understand loan obligations before accepting funds. Students should also confirm that Eagle Gate College is recognized as an eligible institution by their selected lender; once approved, the college can certify the loan.

Federal Loans

Students who complete the FAFSA form may qualify for federal student loans, which have terms established by the federal government and may include fixed interest rates and structured repayment options. Federal loan programs may include Direct Subsidized Loans, Direct Unsubsidized Loans, and Direct Parent PLUS Loans for eligible borrowers.

Private Loans

Private educational loans are offered by banks, credit unions, or other financial institutions and are not federally insured. Approval requirements, credit criteria, interest rates, and repayment terms vary by lender. Generally, borrowers must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents with established credit. International students may qualify with a creditworthy U.S. co-signer and appropriate immigration documentation. Students with limited or adverse credit history may improve eligibility by applying with a qualified co-borrower, as many lenders require one.

Federal Work-Study

Eagle Gate College’s Federal Work-Study (FWS) program provides eligible students with the opportunity to earn additional financial assistance through part-time employment while enrolled. Participants may work in paid positions at the college or with approved nonprofit or for-profit organizations, earning at least the current minimum hourly wage. An added benefit of the program is that FWS earnings are not counted toward the following year’s federal aid eligibility calculation. Awards typically range from $200 to $4,500 per academic year, depending on eligibility and funding availability, though earnings depend on actual hours worked.

Funding is limited and awarded annually beginning July 1 on a first-come, first-served basis. To be considered, students must complete the FAFSA form, demonstrate financial need, and indicate interest in part-time employment. Interested students should speak with a Financial Aid representative for guidance. Participation may require  an  employment application and is subject to eligibility and available funds.

Net price calculator

Eagle Gate College’s Net Price Calculator is an online planning resource designed to help students and families estimate the potential net cost of attendance. The calculator is based on full-time enrollment for a first-time student and reflects current aid year costs and awarding policies. It assumes submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). While the results are only estimates and do not represent a final financial aid award or official net price, the tool provides helpful general cost and eligibility information to support informed financial planning.
